Jodie Sekeres
Jodie Sekeres has worked in public schools as an SLPA for 7 years. She is currently training through The University of Alabama and the Dyslexia Resource Center to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT). Certified Academic Language Therapists provide diagnostic, explicit, systematic Multisensory Structured Language intervention which builds a high degree of accuracy, knowledge, and independence for students with written-language disorders, including dyslexia. She is passionate about helping her patients improve their reading and language skills.
She graduated summa cum laude from Harding University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Disorders. She completed her Master of Science degree in Early Childhood Special Education. Jodie is originally from Dothan, and she moved back in 2004. In addition to her experience in public schools as an SLPA, Jodie has one year of experience providing Academic Language Therapy under the supervision of a Qualified Instructor and 3 years of experience providing early intervention services.
Jodie is married to Press and has three children. Nora will be a Freshman at The University of Alabama at Birmingham. Elijah will be in 11th grade, and Grady will be in 7th grade.
