Anna Carter has worked as a certified and licensed speech-language pathologist since 2017. She primarily works with children who have speech, language, and/or feeding disorders. She also enjoys working with adults with a variety of speech and language impairments, including aphasia, traumatic brain injury, and dysarthria. She is passionate about helping her patients become effective communicators as a way to connect to the world around them.
She graduated summa cum laude from the University of Alabama, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Communicative Disorders. She completed her Master of Science degree in Speech-Language Pathology at Vanderbilt University.
Anna’s pediatric clinical experience includes time at the University of Alabama Speech and Hearing Center, Vanderbilt Medical Center, the Down Syndrome Clinic at Vanderbilt Children’s Hospital, and Franklin Elementary School. Her adult clinical experience includes time at the TriStar Centennial Medical Center, Vanderbilt Medical Center Pi Beta Phi Rehabilitation Institution, and their Community-Based Aphasia Group. She is a current member of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. She joined the team at Milestones (formerly Child and Family Services) in 2021.
Anna and her husband attend and serve at Calvary Baptist Church. She also enjoys watching movies with her husband, playing violin, and playing outside with her dog, Dash.
