Dr. Melanie Cotter specializes in therapy for adults addressing concerns like depression, anxiety, life stressors, and chronic health problems. In addition, she conducts evaluations for adults for screening for bariatric surgery and assesses for adult attention deficit disorder, learning and memory, pain management and emotional patterns.
She works with children, performing comprehensive evaluations to assess attention, memory, learning, and emotional and behavioral challenges. She also offers specialized services in the area of developmental challenges, including autism spectrum.
Dr. Cotter completed her undergraduate and graduate training at the University of Alabama. She spent her internship at Tulsa, OK’s Children's Medical Center, a multidisciplinary outpatient and inpatient treatment facility. She has practiced at Milestones (formerly Child and Family Services) for more than 20 years.
A native of the Wiregrass, she is active in her church and community and serves on the board of the Child Advocacy Center. In her free time, she enjoys reading, hiking, horseback riding and spending time with family.
