KK Gorland has been a certified and licensed speech language pathologist since 2008. She enjoys working as a speech language pathologist with children of all ages. Her areas of interest are feeding and augmentative communication as well as reading and dyslexia. She has been trained in the SOS Approach to Feeding and Beckman Oral Motor Strategies, as well as the Orton-Gillingham approach to reading.
She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communication Disorders from Auburn University in 2006. Shortly after, she graduated magna cum laude with her Master of Communication Disorders from Auburn University. She completed her field work at the Auburn University Speech and Hearing Clinic; Easter Seals in Montgomery, AL; and St. Vincent’s Hospital in Trussville, AL.
After completing the masters program, KK spent her clinical fellowship at Crowne Healthcare in Montgomery, AL. She remained there until moving back to her hometown of Dothan to work at Wesley Manor. While working at these two facilities, KK provided speech and language therapy primarily to the geriatric population focusing on speech and language related disorders such as dysphagia, receptive and expressive aphasia, cognitive impairments, and motor speech disorders. In 2010, KK began working at Children’s Rehabilitation Services in Dothan where she provided evaluations with a team based approach and consultative services to families, schools, and other professionals/professional organizations. She joined Milestones (formerly Child and Family Services) in 2016.
KK has been married to Michael since 2011 and they have two boys, Declan and Shep. They attend Covenant United Methodist Church.
