Fred George PH.D. has been a clinical psychologist since 1975. His clinical practice has centered primarily on children and adolescents. Although this has included the full range of mental health difficulties, primarily it has involved evaluation and treatment of those with ADHD and ADD and all of their attendant problems. In the last several years Dr. George has limited his practice to evaluation and feedback of preschool and school age children, of teenagers, of adults with ADHD, evaluations for Vocational Rehabilitation Services, and supervision of Mental Health Professionals’ Medicaid patients.

He received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania (1967) and completed the Ph.D. program at the University of Texas in Austin (1971).

Dr. George has a very rich professional career with years of experience. After serving as an active duty psychologist at Lyster Army Hospital at Fort Rucker, he then began his private practice career in Enterprise, AL in 1975. He joined Milestones (formerly Child and Family Services) in 2019. He has created Passing it on: Workshops and Consultation which centers on life lessons learned, usually the hard way! He has also presented workshops in “Evaluating and Treating Behavior, Mood, Learning, and Emotional Problems in Children and Adolescents,” “Stress Management,” “Thirty Five Years in the Private Practice of Psychology: Lessons Learned,” “Managing Oppositional and Defiant Behavior,” and “What do People with ADHD/ADD do When They Grow Up” just to name a few. He has been awarded the Chris Dendy Service Award in ADHD Education by the University of Alabama ADHD workshop committee.

The realm of psychology has been a family affair for Dr. George. His wife, Leslie, now retired, served as a child abuse social worker at the Family Advocacy Program at Lyster Army Health Clinic at Fort Rucker for more than 25 years. They have two children; Kristen is in social work and David is a Staff Sergeant (E-6) in the Army MP Corp at Fort Campbell. Dr. George and Leslie also have five grandchildren.
